Harvesting Sweet Potatoes & Making Our Own Wine!

Harvesting Sweet Potatoes & Making Our Own Wine!

(Korea Rural Tourism 1st Mission)

When you heard the country 'Korea', what came across your mind? Is it those KPOP songs, dramas or those fashionable celebrities? These were those stuff that i defined Korea before i chose to became one of the Korea Rural Tourism supporters lately in September 2015. Besides giving me the honored to become a small reporter to introduce the beauty of Korea to the people in my country, it exposed me to a larger world where i can share my experiences in this program to people from all over the world. So now, let's starts with the first mission where i did on 20th September 2015.

This was the schedule of what we did on the last Sunday. Sounds great isn't it? It was a very awesome trip where we can do every thing not by machines but our bare hands! We gathered in Samsung stations first and without delaying we depart for the first destination - Yangpyeong's Soomy land.

Once we'd arrived, we took a group photos and some very friendly Korean ajumma guided us to an open space and teach us how to make the Korean traditional red bean bread. Times flies when we were making our own 'limited edition' bread by our own. It was quite easy, i believed even small children can do it all by alone.

Isn't it looks delicious? We waited the bread to be steamed for 20 minutes. It tasted better than my expectation and i even brought them back for my other Malaysian friends in my dorm! After eating the red bean bread, we followed the ajumma to a wide farm area to harvest sweet potatoes. Have you ever seem how the sweet potatoes are being harvest? I believed 90% of you never seen it before because I am one of those 90% of you. hahahaha~ I'll show you the picture then.

I harvested the most amount of sweet potatoes among my friends! How lucky i am. After cleaning ourselves, we had our lunch. It was a very healthy lunch where we did it in a korean way. With lectuce!

Just in case you wanted to know how much is it, i took a photo of the menu. It wasn't that expensive but it was super delicious. I can't hold myself to have to bowl of rice! (i should have keeping myself fit). The scenery in Sumi Farm is just too breathtaking.

After the lunch we walked back to our bus and left for the second destination --Paju's Sanmeoru Farm. This is one of the famous farm in Korea where some of the celebrities came for drama shooting. In here you can pluck the Korean Grapes and make your own wine! There is a big underground storage where they stored all the fermented wines inside.

I bottled up my own wine and have my photos as a label for the wine! Besides wine, this Korean grapes can also be used in making chocolates, jam and even soaps. These grapes are rich of vitamins and minerals which are good to our health, These wines are called ' Meoru de Seo'.

I can't believe i have my own wine! Hope it tastes nice. The wine and jam sections are specially for foreign tourist and of course, call for reservation before you go!

I can't believe the trip ended so fast. Never enough for me and my friends to enjoy ourselves through this healing trip. Sometimes we just need to slow down our pace, look around and you will  find yourself amazed by the beauty of nature.
