Korea Rural Tourism - Introducing Damyang Changpyeong Samjinae Village

Let me introduce to you a beautiful Korean 'slow city' called Samjinae Village.

Do you know what is a 'slow city'?

A slow city seeks 'a relaxed and enjoyable life' through harmony of tradition and modernity. It refers to local communities that live and preserve natural surroundings, local food and traditions. In 2007, Samjinae Village was the first town in Asia to be designated a Slow City as it met all three of these conditions.

Compared with the fast-changing city life, the village seeks a slow life, experiencing regional cultures and food, surrounded by nature. Visitors can make Korean traditional sweets & cookies such as Hangwa and Ssalyeot here. The village features beautiful traditional houses and centuries old stonewalls.

The Korea Rural Tourism Supporters arrived in Bohyang Tea Farm in Boseong.

We went on a guided tour around the tea farm.

In order to have the best quality tea farm, there are 2 conditions:...

1. There should be high humidity and fog.
2. The water and air in the surroundings should be clean, away from pollution.

Boseong has both conditions and hence produces one of the highest quality tea in the world
