Walk with slow pace, Jeollanamdo

Exactly a week before, I was amazed by the beauty of Mount Daedun, which is situated in Jellabukdo (North part of Jeolla province), and this week i was able to stop and have a visit to Jeollanamdo (South part of Jeolla province). As expecting, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! <I am not exaggerate>

 <Samjinae Village in Changpyeong>:
Our very first stop is Samjinae Village. Samjinae Village dates back to the Baekje Kingdom, it features beautiful traditional houses and centuries old stonewalls. A slow city seeks 'a relaxed and enjoyable life' through harmony of tradition and modernity. In 2007, Samjinae Village was the first town in Asia to be designated a 'Slow City'. See, I was like walking very very slowly at there. Without rushing, we took our time, lying on the green grass, smelling the fresh land and surprisingly we enjoy that!

Can you imaging when you are in darkness and there's no electricity? Ancient people showed us their wisdom by making candles from BEE WAX! This candle smells like a mix of honey + chinese medicine, and the longer it kept, the better the candle 's quality.

After making the Bee wax candle, we went to a nearby traditional house and start learning on how to make RICE TAFFYMaking Rice taffy (a traditional Korean snack) is also another highlight for this trip. I never knew that making this candy requires so much energy and feel so grateful for those villagers that were so persist in making the rice taffy with their bare hands instead of machines.

It looks so simple right? Believe me, the toughness is beyond your imagination cause you'll need to pull the rice taffy until it become hard. (Guys, you can make this to build your muscles^^). With the name of 'Slow City', the lifestyle here is much more slower compare to Seoul. We made our own polaroid photo album with beautiful colour papers as cover.

Best moments should always be kept and remembered. Though this trip me and my friends are really get closed and we enjoyed the whole trip together! Although we are from different countries, i believed that when everyone of us open up the album we made, those memorable moments that we spent will be rewind.

<Bohyang Tea Farm>:
Bohyang Tea Farm is our second-day-trip-destination. It located in the scenic hills of Boseong, is run by Yeong gi Choi and his wife, Woo Jung Choi for 20 years and still counting. As a result of their countless efforts to develop superb teas, they have succeeded in producing their own specially named Bohyang Tea and the aptly named Gold Tea. Both teas are the first to obtain organic certification for fermented teas in Korea.

The farm owner welcomed us with his warm heart once we had arrived. Now (early of November) is the tea flower blossom season, so he brought us up to the tea farm, which is located on the hills and he allowed us to pluck the tea flowers. According to him, you can keep those flowers in honey for a month, and one month later, you can make it into a tea. It will smells like a flower tea!

So lovely the flower! This tea farm is all surrounded by various kind of flowers. AND, there's a 80-year-old cat guarding this tea farm!

We were divided into group to make tea bread. Although my group didn't got the first rice, we all enjoyed the whole process of making it. It really requires patient to make this.

After making tea bread, we were guided to a small well decorated room to learn the culture of drinking tea. Do you know what is the etiquette to pour and drink a cup of tea? First, you have to sit up straight with your legs folding'second, when pouring the tea, you must always hold the cover of the tea pot and last, hold your cup on your left hand and drink it.

I can't express how grateful I am to have got a chance to learn this culture and drink those tea. Why? Because......the president of South Korea and the representatives of the other countries also had sitting on the same place, learning the same culture and drinking the same tea!

As i always said, live with your one and only one style and grateful for everything! Grateful to have joined this supporter, which have gave me so much of love. <3

Harvesting sweet potatoes and making our own wine! (Korea Rural Tourism 1st Mission)

When you heard the country 'Korea', what came across your mind? Is it those KPOP songs, dramas or those fashionable celebrities? These were those stuff that i defined Korea before i chose to became one of the Korea Rural Tourism supporters lately in September 2015. Besides giving me the honored to become a small reporter to introduce the beauty of Korea to the people in my country, it exposed me to a larger world where i can share my experiences in this program to people from all over the world. So now, let's starts with the first mission where i did on 20th September 2015.

This was the schedule of what we did on the last Sunday. Sounds great isn't it? It was a very awesome trip where we can do every thing not by machines but our bare hands! We gathered in Samsung stations first and without delaying we depart for the first destination--Yangpyeong's Soomy land.

Once we'd arrived, we took a group photos and some very friendly Korean ajumma guided us to an open space and teach us how to make the Korean traditional red bean bread. Times flies when we were making our own 'limited edition' bread by our own. It was quite easy, i believed even small children can do it all by alone.
Isn't it looks delicious? We waited the bread to be steamed for 20 minutes. It tasted better than my expectation and i even brought them back for my other Malaysian friends in my dorm!

After eating the red bean bread, we followed the ajumma to a wide farm area to harvest sweet potatoes. Have you ever seem how the sweet potatoes are being harvest? I believed 90% of you never seen it before because I am one of those 90% of you. hahahaha~ I'll show you the picture then.

I harvested the most amount of sweet potatoes among my friends! How lucky i am. After cleaning ourselves, we had our lunch. It was a very healthy lunch where we did it in a korean way. With lectuce!

Just in case you wanted to know how much is it, i took a photo of the menu. It wasn't that expensive but it was super delicious. I can't hold myself to have to bowl of rice! (i should have keeping myself fit). The scenery in Sumi Farm is just too breathtaking.

After the lunch we walked back to our bus and left for the second destination--Paju's Sanmeoru Farm. This is one of the famous farm in Korea where some of the celebrities came for drama shooting. In here you can pluck the Korean Grapes and make your own wine! There is a big underground storage where they stored all the fermented wines inside.

I bottled up my own wine and have my photos as a label for the wine! Besides wine, this Korean grapes can also be used in making chocolates, jam and even soaps. These grapes are rich of vitamins and minerals which are good to our health, These wines are called ' Meoru de Seo'.

I can't believe i have my own wine! Hope it tastes nice. The wine and jam sections are specially for foreign tourist and of course, call for reservation before you go!

I can't believe the trip ended so fast. Never enough for me and my friends to enjoy ourselves through this healing trip. Sometimes we just need to slow down our pace, look around and you will  find yourself amazed by the beauty of nature.
