The Beautiful Scenery Made My Weekend Memorable!

After a few hectic weeks of continuous exam and endless assignments, it was time for me to gasp for refreshing air at the rural area. This time we went for a two days one night trip. That morning, we took a six hours bus journey from Seoul to the Southwest of South Korea, called Jeollanamdo, and our destination was Samjinae village. Samjinae village is a very special village because it is one of the slow city in South Korea. I think most of you are familiar to Jeonju Hanok Village, but never hear about Samjinae Village.

You can take a bus express at the Central City Bus Terminal near the Gosok Bus Terminal to Damyang Bus Terminal. At Damyang Bus Terminal, you can take a 3-1. until you reach a bus stop, called ChangPyeong ChoGyo.

At the village education center, we had our lunch after a long bus journey.

We also had some traditional games after the delicious lunch.
It was very difficult to walk with these two long bamboo sticks if you can't balance yourself well.

Throwing the sticks into our target cylinder was not easy.

I am a happy girl when cycling ^^

Our version of "The fault in our stars" ^^

Behind the scenes.

We took a lot of group photo to put them in our mini album.

Next, we made a bee wax candle.

The process of making the bee wax candle was very easy, which you only have to dip your candle inside a hot bee wax so that the wax deposit on your original candle. We repeated this process for at least ten times and it ws very boring.

The bee wax making master is explaining how to make a bee wax candle.

I repeated this process for at least ten times. Well, it was very boring, but we learned to be patient and slow down our steps.

Finally, the candle changed from the originally slim candle to a real bee wax candle. According to the master, we have to wait for at least one week to burn the candles. The longer we wait, the better the candle will burn.

After that, we experienced the handmade rice toffee. It was not as easy as we imagined.

We were first given the raw ingredient.
They were the barley sugar, ginger powder and sesame.

After we poured the ginger powder and the sesame on the barley sugar, we started to make our rice toffee.
It was not as easy as you imagine. TT

However, the rice toffee made by ZhenZheng and I were the best among all the groups. Yeah!

We had a tour around the village after that, but I was quite disappointed as it was too dark even it was only 6pm. If we were able to take a tour around the village during afternoon, I guess it will be more memorable.

We had mushroom bulgogi as our dinner. ^^

We also made our own mini album.

If you are seeking for a slow life, I will recommend you to come and pay a visit at Samjinae Village and have a stay at the traditional Hanok.

You can also call here for more information or to reserve for a one night Hanok stay. 061-383-3807

That night, we had a gathering for games and some beer and soju.
It was a memorable night. I'm also glad to get along with many friends from different countries and we are closer compared to last trip.

The next day, we took a one and half hour journey to Boseong.
I had been thinking of travelling to Boseong since last year and finally I had a chance to come here.

The green tea plantation we went is Bohyang Tea Farm.

We were welcomed by the owner of the plantation with delicious Deokguk as our breakfast.

We also went for a walk at the tea plantation.

According to the owner of the plantation, there is no factory approximately 10km away from the plantation, so the non-polluted environment is the best environment to plant the high quality tea.

This is the tea flower.

The scenery there was very nice.

We also had a tea art learning.

The plantation's owner taught us the manner for tea art.

The tea really taste different from the ordinary tea. The aroma of the tea also different. The owner of the plantation said that even the South Korea president also drinking the tea that he planted.

It's lunch time again!!! The lunch served was indeed very delicious.

After that, we had a tea bricks making session.

Our big brother, Ques Lee is grinding the green tea leaves for making the tea bricks.

Tadaaah!! These are the tea bricks.

Before we went back, we took a photo with the owners of the plantation.

I'm sure I will be going back to this place again for healing or to run away from the stress in Seoul.

I will keep this name card until I pay a visit to here again.

for more inquiries

Boseong had been the place that I wished to go since last year, and my wishes came true last weekend. Coming back from this trip, I am more energetic to face the hectic life for this semester.
